The course intends to guide you to use your communication skills effectively to provide comfort and relief to Muslim patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. It will also explore the support provided to terminal patients of different ages such as children, youth, aged, patients suffering from advanced cancer, dementia, and neurological, lung & other advanced heart diseases.
Students will learn how to handle the final moments of death, especially when the patient is Muslim, and what one should do when the soul departs from this world from an Islamic perspective. Furthermore, we will discuss the Islamic rulings related to grief and bereavement and Islamic laws related to Wasiyya (Islamic will), helping you guide the Muslim patients and their families to prepare their wills. Case studies based on real-life experiences will be covered to improve your practical skills that can be implemented in real-life scenarios
