About Sister Sabia Rehman

Sister Sabia Rehman began her career in healthcare chaplaincy in 2008, working across three NHS Trusts in adult acute care, mental health, and children’s services. She played a key role in developing Muslim chaplaincy provision in Sheffield, helping to ensure that spiritual care within hospital settings was both professionally delivered and grounded in faith.

She currently holds several national leadership roles, including Vice Chair of the National Burial Council and National Lead for End-of-Life Care at the British Islamic Medical Association. In addition, she serves as a Trustee of the Centre for Islam and Medicine, contributing to strategic development across healthcare and community settings.

Through these positions, Sabia is actively involved in policy development, education, and advocacy, with a focus on faith-sensitive end-of-life care, bereavement support, and timely burial practices. She has also presented her work at a range of national and international conferences, engaging with healthcare, regulatory, and professional audiences.
