About Shaykh Fazlur Rahman

Shaykh Fazlur Rahman Ibn Ali Hassan is currently a full time Muslim Chaplain and head of Muslim Chaplaincy Services at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Shaykh is a graduate scholar from the renowned Islamic seminary (Darul Uloom Al-Arabiyyah Al-Islamiyyah) based in Bury, UK.

Shaykh Fazlur Rahman serves as a Trustee & volunteer imam at his local masjid in Blackburn in Beardwood.   He is a co-founder of thinkBRITE Services, an organisation which provides training on Islamic Cultural Awareness and community cohesion.  Shaykh currently serves as the chair for Shine Charity formerly (Tauheedul Charity) and is an advisory member of the Organ donation committee at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Shaykh Fazlur Rahman also regularly delivers Jumuah lectures in the hospital and is a regular speaker at Islamic events.  Shaykh is the director of FH language solutions Ltd, a company that provides translation and interpretation services and regularly takes & leads tour groups on Islamic Educational Tours and excursions under the name of  ‘Al-Marifah Tours’.

Shaykh Fazlur Rahman has previously taught in the alimiyyah programme at Miftahul Uloom in Blackburn and has a teaching qualification in Post compulsory education thus starting his career as a lecturer in Islamic Studies and Modern foreign languages at various colleges in Lancashire.   Shaykh has also served as the manager of the 1st Ethical Charitable Trust, which was an Islamic finance based charity. Here he played a key role in establishing the first ever UK Shariah Finance consultancy panel by the name of Al-Qalam Shariah Panel. He was instrumental in delivering fiqhul Mua’amlat courses in mosques across UK whilst working for the charity.
