The Fiqh of Halal and Haram – Level 1
The Fiqh of Halal and Haram – From Cradle to Grave
About The Course
Islam is a faith which imparts both inner spiritual growth and guidance on outward actions in line with legal rulings pertaining to what Islam sees as right and wrong. This moral and legal guidance is presented in a structured way developed over a long legal tradition developed over centuries, where rulings are derived from the Quran and Sunnah.
Islam is a holistic faith which provides guidance and rulings pertaining to all aspects of worldly life to ensure success in our afterlife. This course aims to impart these essential Islamic rulings related to all aspects of a Muslim’s private, public, family and professional life. It is an obligation for every Muslim to learn rulings related to all aspects of their life. We need to know what we are expected to refrain from and what actions are pleasing to our Lord from which we can earn reward.
Our world is changing dramatically and rulings are changing all the time and to keep up can be difficult and confusing. Al Balagh academy is offering this excellent opportunity to learn from a two tiered / level course on the lawful and unlawful in Islam, beyond what is generally known within the realm of worship. It will answer basic questions facing Muslims today, providing authentic references from Qur’an and Sunnah.
The course will mainly focus on issues such as the Halal and Haram of food, trade and commerce, Patients and Medicine, Islamic conduct of a female and a male, their dress codes, manners and etiquettes, marriage and divorce, and other related miscellaneous issues. It will also present the legal reasoning behind some of these rulings as well as practical advice on how to implement them in modern context.
