Presentation & Media Skills Training

An exclusive course for you to enhance your public speaking, presentation and media skills

Presentation & Media Skills Training

About The Course

Over the past few years, the world has changed how it views Muslims. Most Western people have a negative understanding of Islam and Muslims as presented by the mainstream media. As Muslims, we know that these atrocities caused by a handful of Muslims have no place in Islam, and however, a large proportion of the world’s population thinks otherwise.

The Muslim leadership has been more reactionary than being proactive until now. There is now an urgent need to harmonise the relationship between Muslim and Non-Muslim communities and engage with the Muslim Youth more effectively.

We need influential Muslim leaders who not only have knowledge of Islam but have knowledge training and skills to be effective in taking an active part in society. This skills development course for Ulama is to help build capacity for Muslim leaders and Ulama in particular.

This course will explore various schools of thought and Islamic movements in Europe and beyond, the causes of the radicalisation of the Muslim youth and possible solutions, how to engage positively with the media and give TV and radio interviews effectively, and how to deliver a Khutba on the contemporary trends of society.

The Presentation & Media Skills Training course will enable qualified Shariah scholars to develop the required skills and use the necessary tools to provide adequate service in the community.

Course Overview

The growing development of inter-faith networks across some Western countries has helped a great deal to understand each other’s faiths and Islam in particular, but this has not by any means averted the crisis that the Muslims currently face with regards to Islamophobia and the constant negative portrayal of Islam in the Media. If these issues go unchallenged, then it continues to have a negative impact on future generations.

This course will assist you in planning, organising, inviting, and delivering Islamic awareness at the local Masajid. There is great interest in Islam in the West, and we need to provide easy access for people to come to our Masajid to learn about Islam.
The rising concern of many Western governments includes the radicalisation of the Muslim Youth. Imams and Muslim leaders have a responsibility to guide the Muslim Youth. There are very few opportunities for the Youth to learn about Islam outside the usual Madrasa system. The students will explore the various strategies that can be deployed to encourage the Youth to get involved in shariah-compliant activities and give them a sense of ownership.
The course will allow Ulama and community leaders to analyse the reasons for the rise of Islamophobia and turn these challenges into opportunities. We will explore the emergence of political Islam and why many are turning to express Islam in this way.

Today, engaging with the media is essential. This course will guide you to use this tool constructively. One needs to acquire effective communication and presentation skills to promote Islam more effectively. We will also learn how to invite people influentially to learn about Islam, deliver an effective Khutba, and present the most significant impact.
