Web Developer/Mobile App Developer

Role Summary:

As a Web Developer/Mobile App Developer volunteer with Al Balagh Multi-media team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization’s digital presence and promoting its courses and programs to Muslims worldwide. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining websites and mobile applications that are user-friendly, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, you will also assist the IT tech team in resolving technical issues related to the organization’s online platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain websites and mobile applications using various programming languages, frameworks, and software tools
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure that the website and mobile applications align with the organization’s branding and messaging
• Continuously improve website and mobile application performance, user experience, and functionality
• Assist the IT tech team in resolving technical issues related to the organization’s online platforms
• Ensure the website and mobile applications are up-to-date, secure, and compatible with all devices and platforms

Time Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 hours per week

(Time commitment is flexible depending on your schedule and you may take a break and resume again after discussing with your mentor)

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in web development and mobile app development using various programming languages, frameworks, and software tools
• Experience in designing user-friendly and visually appealing websites and mobile applications
• Understanding of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
• Knowledge of mobile app development frameworks, such as React Native or Flutter
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Role Summary: The Graphic Designer volunteer will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing designs for Al Balagh Academy’s courses and events. The volunteer will be responsible for creating graphics for social media, email newsletters, and other promotional materials. This volunteer role requires creativity, attention to detail, and an understanding of design principles.

Responsibilities:

• Design visually appealing graphics for Al Balagh Academy’s courses and events, including social media graphics, email newsletters, and other promotional materials
• Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to understand the requirements and objectives of each project
• Ensure that all designs align with the Al Balagh Academy brand and style guidelines
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Assist the IT tech team with implementing designs on the website and other platforms

Time Requirements:

Video Editing Director

Role Summary: The Video Editing Director volunteer will play a crucial role in ensuring the final quality of Al Balagh’s educational videos. This volunteer will review videos and suggest to the editing team which parts to be taken or edited out from the final video. They will provide time stamps for where edits are to be made. The volunteer will review videos in their specific area of expertise, which includes Medical Fiqh, Islamic Psychology, Western Ideologies, Islamic Homeschooling/Marriage/Social, Mental Health, Unani Medicine, Islamic Studies, Atheism, Muslim Youth, and LGBT. By doing so, they will help ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the videos that Al Balagh produces.

Responsibilities:

• Review educational videos in their area of expertise
• Provide time stamps for where edits are to be made and suggest which parts of the video should be edited out or taken
• Communicate effectively with the editing team, providing clear instructions for any changes that need to be made
• Ensure that all suggested changes align with Al Balagh’s quality standards and educational goals
• Collaborate with the multimedia team to ensure timely completion of video projects

The volunteer will be responsible for editing raw footage into a polished and professional final product, ensuring that the video meets the quality standards of Al Balagh Academy.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Al Balagh Multi-media team to understand the video’s objectives, target audience, and message
• Edit raw footage into a polished and professional final product, including color correction, audio mixing, and visual effects
• Suggest changes and improvements to the video to enhance its overall quality and impact
• Ensure that the final video meets the quality standards of Al Balagh Academy and is delivered on time
• Collaborate with the Video Editing Director and other team members to ensure that the videos align with Al Balagh Academy’s vision and mission.
