(Principal Imam, The Peace Centre, Leicester, UK)
Moulana Mohammed Lockhat serves as the Principal Imam of The Peace Centre in Leicester, where he oversees its religious, educational, and community initiatives. Central to his work is the running of Madrasatus-Salaam, which provides children and young people with a strong foundation in Qur’ān, Tajwīd, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah, and Akhlaaq, reflecting the Centre’s focus on traditional Islamic learning and character development.
Under his leadership, The Peace Centre has grown into a wider community hub, offering a food bank, faith-based counselling, youth programmes, and family support. A notable part of this work is the Autism Community Club, which creates an inclusive space for children with autism and ADHD, offering regular meet-ups that help families connect and access culturally sensitive support. Through these services, Lockhat has helped shape the Centre into a vital resource promoting well-being, inclusion, and community cohesion.
