Unani medicine having its roots in Egyptian and Mesopotamian traditions (3000 BC) was founded on its philosophical principles by the ancient Greek (500 BC). Course Overview

The Unani Medicine has a status of global medicine travelled across the civilizations, cultures, geographies and regions. Unani medicine having its roots in Egyptian and Mesopotamian traditions (3000 BC) was founded on its philosophical principles by the ancient Greek (500 BC). It was developed and flourished mainly in the Islamic Civilization by the Arabs, Europeans (Spain), Central Asians, Persians and lastly in the Indian subcontinent.

Al Balagh Academy is offering this online course to introduce the students to the theories and practices of Unani medicine to provide a foundation for all future studies. The course aims to enhance the understanding of health and disease from Unani medical perspective and to give the students an amazing knowledge of a traditional approach that is unsurpassed in modern medical approaches.

This course will cover the historical evolution of Unani medicine, basic concepts of Unani medicines, such as the body, the Seven Natural Principles, the Four Elements, the Four States of Matter, temperament and the four Humours. Further, understand its origin and its relation with Islamic medical tradition. The course will also briefly explore the maintenance of health (The Six Essential Causes, Balance and Imbalance, concepts of disease and cure, the disease process, stages of the disease, methods of diagnosis and principles of treatment) and Psychological Profiles.

The focus is to provide a knowledge background of life and health from the Unani medicinal approach and its relationship with mankind, nature and social environment.

There is a strong demand for alternatives of conventional medicine, because of concerns of safety, efficacy, and an inclination towards more “natural” products. Considering the need for trained professionals in the field of Unani medicine, this course provides an excellent foundation to progress studying Unani medicine in detail.

We always encourage attending live sessions among students, but it is by no means compulsory for technical course progress of the students.

Can I download the recordings and watch it offline?

Do I get marks for watching course recordings and presentations?
There are no additional marks for watching the course recordings. Only the module Assessments and the final exam add up to the final score.You can check the individual scores of your Assessments under the Progress tab of MyAlBalagh.
I missed a live session. Can I get the video recordings?
If you are unable to attend a live session or have missed it, you can view recorded sessions on your course dashboard. You can access all the completed Recordings, PPT and assessments anytime.
